The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) has been honored with the “2023 Asia’s Best Employer Brand” at the 18th Employer Branding Awards conducted in Singapore, Aug. 17.

The award, presented by the Employer Branding Institute, recognizes Asian organizations that excel in enhancing employee satisfaction, engagement, talent development, innovative talent practices, and retention.

In her acceptance speech, Sophia T. Borja, PhilRice deputy executive director for Administrative Services and Finance, emphasized the Institute’s crucial role in shaping the future of the Philippine rice industry through advancements in rice science and technology.

“The Institute spearheads advancements in rice science and technology, all aimed at fostering a thriving rice community, encapsulated in our motto: ‘Better PhilRice. Better rice communities’,” she said.

She further highlighted the importance of internal transformation at PhilRice, stating, “Our foremost focus is on elevating PhilRice’s internal transformation, recognizing it as the cornerstone for realizing our objective of better rice communities.”

The Employer Branding Institute acknowledged PhilRice’s significant position within the influential and iconic market. The Institute’s General Administrative Support Services (GASS) Sector and Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) ensure smooth administrative support services.

Dr. John C. De Leon, PhilRice’s executive director, expressed his gratitude for the award, stating, “We don’t work for awards, but our happiness shines through when they come, like this one. We’ll celebrate this new success.”

The Employee Branding Institute, with over 14 years of existence, has an expanding network involving HR leaders from more than 36 countries who recommend exceptional individuals and organizations.
