Farmers, agricultural experts, and policymakers immersed themselves in Malusog Rice’s story at this year’s Lakbay Palay 2023 Wet Season. The event held at the Central Experiment Station and DA-PhilRice branches in Isabela and Bicol featured interactive exhibits, expert-led discussions, and hands-on experiences, all aimed at highlighting the cultivation and benefits of Malusog Rice.

Farmers have recognized the potential of Malusog Rice not only in improving their own nutritional status but also in helping to achieve food security in the country. With an increasing awareness of the importance of a balanced diet, there is a growing demand for healthier food options, and Malusog Rice aligns perfectly with this need.

“This Malusog Rice is amazing, I hope we can buy its seeds for our association members to plant,” a rice farmer from Northern Samar commented.

Another farmer from Region 2 commented: “Since we are given the opportunity to know more about Malusog Rice and receive a 2-kg sample pack to try at home, we will be able to help DA-PhilRice Isabela promote this rice to our fellow farmers, family, and friends.”
