Be leaders. Ms Boots Anson-Roa, screen legend and civil servant urges the
37 Dangal ng PhilRice awardees to be transactional and transformational leaders. The award is given to the institute’s most outstanding staff. According to Anson-Roa, transactional leaders are akin to intelligence while the transformational leaders inspire for positive changes.

Citing the Lebanese artist Kahlil Gibran, the multi-awarded actress and leader said,
“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself
that you truly give. There are those who give little of the much that they have-
and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gift
unwholesome. These are the believers of life and the bounty of life,
and their coffer is never empty. Through the hands of such
as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.”
