Taking steps to improve high-value crop cultivation alongside rice farming, five farmers’ associations in San Carlos, Negros Occidental are pursuing the Philippine Good Agricultural Practices (PhilGAP) certification with support from Rice Business Innovations System 2.0, East West Seed Co., and the San Carlos Municipal Agriculture Office. Planning commenced on August 15 with the joint efforts of public and private organizations, aiming to bolster the farmers’ competitiveness and resilience.
