Confidence from training. Fifty-two farmers from  Lupao, Nueva Ecija completed their four-month training on rice production this May. Conducted under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund, the Technology Management Services Division facilitated the Farmers Field School, which introduced the PalayCheck System. The system contains 9 key checks helpful in increasing yield and reducing farm production cost. Farmer-participants said they are now knowledgeable on modern and science-backed management practices on rice agriculture. They also learned basic financial management for them to strategically execute farming as an enterprise.
