The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) has promoted the long-grain, white Mestizo rice in the past. The present, however, belongs to the fast becoming popular brown rice, available at PhilRice as Beautiful Brown rice.

Consumers are guaranteed of consistent product quality as PhilRice uses only select varieties for its Beautiful Brown rice product. These varieties are backed by sensory tests and proven by rice chemistry and food science research to have softer cooked brown rice grains, as these are low amylose types and most are special rices with aromatic characteristics.

Brown rice for meals

PhilRice`s  Beautiful Brown rice is ideal for use in a wide variety of rice meals, as part of a healthy diet.  PhilRice aims to increase awareness on brown rice consumption among consumers as it will eventually contribute to achieving rice self-sufficiency for our country. Dehulled rice, which is commonly known as brown rice, has a higher milling recovery rate than regular milled rice.  If only all Filipinos will consume brown rice, an additional 10% yield will be added to our rice stocks.
