Machines are farmer’s allies. With machines, farmers could produce and earn more in a breeze helping them to confidently compete with rice-exporting neighboring countries. It is hoped that machines would become part of Filipino’s farming culture.

Sa isyu ng magasing ito, busisiin ang mga patotoo ng mga magsasakang tumaas ang ani at kita sa pagtatanim ng hybrid rice. Ma-inspire sa kanilang mga kwentong nagbigay ng ngiti sa kanilang mga labi. Paano nga ba mapatataas ang aning aabot hanggang 10 tonelada?

Intersections among rice, youth, and climate change are not always talked about. The cover shows that these three can be interrelated, with young people at the center. We show that young people are forces to be reckoned with when it comes to addressing issues relating to the impacts of climate change on rice and/or vice versa. Engaging them can mean favorable impacts on our rice-farming communities.

While hybrid is not a new technology, this issue reintroduces it to the public to help them learn and unlearn the things that they know; provide explanations to their judgements; and consider it another option for them to be more competitive
