The Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program provides a venue for agriculture instructors like Cheryl Bundalian (2nd from L) to experience the concepts published in books by participating in the Training of Trainers offered by the RCEF Rice Extension Services Program.
Beyond the classroom. Cheryl Bundalian, a young instructor at Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), can now better educate her students in agriculture with the completion of her training under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund. According to Bundalian, she had been teaching her students the Minus-One Element Technique (MOET), a nutrient diagnostic tool, but was only able to try the technology during the training. She also used the ICT-based applications such as the Leaf Color Chart, MOET app, and Binhing Palay App during the three-day training conducted from May 23 to 25 by the DA-PhilRice Los Baños. She also said that the training inspired her to improve her teaching strategies.
