In support of the recurring theme “𝐖𝐄 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲” and the 2026 sub-theme “𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬!”, PhilRice Bicol conducted a 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐆𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐈) 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 for its staff. ⁣⁣Ms. Peechie T. Mendoza, GAD Practitioner from DSWD Field Office V, once again served as the resource person, guiding participants in understanding how gender, disability, and other intersecting social identities shape access to programs and services, and how these can be addressed within institutional initiatives.⁣⁣As the country’s lead rice R&D agency, DA-PhilRice develops science-based innovations to improve farmers’ productivity and livelihoods. But innovation alone is not enough. Our technologies and programs must also be accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the diverse realities of the communities we serve. ⁣⁣GEDSI is more than compliance—it is a framework that ensures no sector is left behind. Through this activity, PhilRice Bicol reaffirms its commitment to advancing inclusive rice research and development for all.
