Increasing production costs and volatile market prices have severely hurt Filipino farmers, but thanks to PhilRice’s high-yielding rice varieties for different rice ecosystems, holistic and science-based training on rice farming, modern farming technologies that reduce input costs, and information, education, and communication materials that guided farmers throughout their fields. The Institute has helped farmers increase their harvests and significantly boost their incomes. Their transformed economic conditions are clear results of four decades of research, development, projects, and partnerships with numerous stakeholders.
