The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is now accepting applications for Research Fellowship Program. The Program provides funding support for innovative researches that can contribute to the achievement of the following outcomes indicated in the Institute’s Strategic Plan:

  1. Productivity and income improved;
  2. Consumer access to affordable, safe and nutritious rice; and 
  3. Stable rice supply

The country’s lead agency in rice research and development offers fellowships on research and thesis/dissertation and graduate research assistantship ranging from P50,000-P500,000 and monthly stipend of P30,000-P50,000. Prospective fellows are required to submit the following requirements:  

  1. For Research Fellowship:
  • Application form
  • Letter of Intent addressed to :

  • Application Form 
  • Project Concept Paper
  • Letter of Recommendation from the head of agency or institution the applicant is affiliated with
  • Curriculum Vitae 
  1. For Thesis/Dissertation Fellowship:
  • Application Form
  • Letter of Intent addressed to : 
    Dr. Eduardo Jimmy P. Quilang
    OIC-Deputy Executive Director for Research
  • Approved thesis/dissertation outline by the college/university
  • Letter of recommendation from Senior Adviser
  • Research work plan and budgetary requirements (in excel form) duly signed by the applicant, adviser and institution agency head (the budgetary requirement should present a breakdown of the amount
  1. Graduate Research Assistantship
  • Application form
  • Letter of Intent addressed to :
