Mobile Rice Teknoklinik or technology clinics are reaching the fourth and fifth class municipalities in Central Luzon to address farming problems and issues.

With speakers from the Technology Management and Services Division (TMSD) of the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), the consultation activity provides avenue for farmers to consult, discuss, diagnose, analyze, and find solutions to their problems with rice experts, researchers, extentionists, and fellow farmers.

Farmers in Tarlac and Aurora are scheduled next week to be accommodated in the clinic. Early this month, the team promoted PalayCheck® and Palayamanan in Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Zambales.

Anita V. Antonio, TMSD division head, said Teknokliniks will be installed in Tarlac`s Anao, San Clemente, San Manuel on May 20-24 and in Aurora’s Dilasag, Casiguran, and Dinalungan on May 26-28.

Antonio said the month-long activity also creates farmers’ awareness on new rice technologies and Agri-Pinoy Program of the Department Agriculture, the country’s banner program to attain food security.

The Teknoklinik series are being conducted in coordination with Agricultural Training Institute and Department of Agriculture Regional Field Unit 3.
