PhilRice’s Dr. Roel R. Suralta is conferred the 2010 Outstanding Young Scientist (OYS) award from the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) during the organization’s 32^nd Annual Scientific Meeting at Manila Hotel, July 15.

NAST, an award-giving body that recognizes distinguished achievements of researchers in science and technology, will award Suralta as one of the ten OYS in the country for his extensive research on Significance of root plasticity in maintaining dry matter production of rice under fluctuating soil moistures.
