More than 2,000 rice lovers jammed with Brownman Revival, Zelle, De Lara, Hatankaru, 20th Project, Bluejeanjunkies, Glasspoint, and Akto on Nov. 26 at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia.

The RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) concert concluded the month-long observance of the National Rice Awareness Month with a theme “The future is bright, the future is rice.” This event showcased activities that would introduce rice farming to people in Metro Manila and other key cities.

“Mabuhay ang bigas,” Lougee of De Lara screamed out loud to express her love for rice.

Jeazell of Zelle, on the other hand, invited all the people to rock the Music Hall and “sing for rice.”
More than 3,000 children, students, investors, businessmen, and guests also visited the Experience Rice exhibit at the Music Hall, from November 23-26.

Brunei Ambassador to the Philippines HRH Malai Halima Yussof, Former Philippine Ambassador to Brunei and currently Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Virginia H. Benavidez, Pasay City Representative and Head of Pasay City Market Ed Mendoza, Department of Agriculture OIC Usec Bernie Fondevilla, DA-PhilRice Executive Director Ronilo Beronio, and Children Intl Abot Kamay Inc Director Cynthia Tiotuyco delivered inspirational messages during the opening program on November 23.

Games, stage plays, story telling, film viewing, and lectures on rice science, and showcase of famous rice-based by-products by the DA regional offices, public and private sectors were in store during the exhibit.

Said event was sponsored by DA-PhilRice, Children International Philippines-Abot Kamay, Inc., and the SM Foundation.
