Average user rating0.0out of 5 Mating means more production of insect pests, leading to crop damages. As such PhilRice experts recommend farmers to set-up sex pheromone trap to attract male insects of the same insect species. To use the trap, a farmer needs the following: sex pheromone chemical or commercial pheromone, trap, and a support to hang the trap in the field. Sex pheromone can be used in three ways: monitoring device as it detects early season arrival of insects, mass trapping thus preventing mating and multiplication of pests, and as a tool for effective timing of interventions.
